A couple of important things about the show that we’d like to let you know about. 1) It’s a NEW MONTH for Talk Radio Meltdown on Podcast Alley. Yeah, we’re still asking you to vote for us. At the start of every month, our ranking and vote count reset to zero, which means if you voted for us once before, we’d ask if you could PLEASE vote for us again! The more votes we get, the higher our rank goes. Please vote! http://talkradiomeltdown.com/vote 2) This is big. Starting with Episode 75 (which will be the next show after this blog post) we will not be doing the show live for the foreseeable future – each show will be direct-to-podcast, straight from the website, our podcast feed and on iTunes. The show itself will not be changed – we’ll be pretty much recording the shows exactly how they’ve been done since the start. We will still try to record them on Tuesday nights so that they will be up for download on Wednesday mornings and ready to air on RadioYou Boston on Fridays. There will always be a new show for you each week; otherwise we will post an update if we don’t do one. While the show won’t be live for the time being, we still encourage you to call our voicemail line – (774)-293-4263. Leave us stuff and we will play it on the show! Also send us show topics and shit, if you are so inclined – feedback@talkradiomeltdown.com. Just reminding you all to vote for us on Podcast Alley! It’s a new month, which means our votes and ranking have reset back to zero. It’s quick and easy to do:
The more votes we get, the higher our ranking gets. If you haven’t yet voted for us this month, please help us out and do so! First and foremost, we suck and took another week off. Reason being – and I’m going to sound like a big pussy – Kate and I haven’t had any time to spend together in the last couple of weeks, so we spent our only day off from our respective jobs together, which happened to be Tuesday. Instead of giving you a show, we watched gale force winds slam into Hampton Beach, NH, as this piece-of-shit hurricane barrels its way up the East Coast. Nothing is truly better than going to the beach on a 97 degree day only to be told to stay out of the water, for risk of “severe death.” That’s right, “severe death.” Second, VOTE. VOTE. VOTE. VOTE. VOTE. I can’t stress that enough. Please vote for this mediocre show on Podcast Alley. It takes literally one minute, and it’s the only thing I ask of you, the faithful listener (hi Shyguy.) So go here: http://talkradiomeltdown.com/vote – enter in your REAL email address, and click the link sent to your inbox. Our ranking goes up, people notice our show in the Top 100 or Top 50, and boom – we have fans, and we keep you entertained. Third, if you’ve listened to the last few months worth of shows, you’d hear me bring up Conan O’Brien towards the end of nearly every one. Clearly I’m the only one on the show who is Team Coco, and today Conan announced the name of his new TBS show. It’s called “Conan.” You should go here and watch the video of him announcing the title: http://www.teamcoco.com/blog/conan-announces-name-of-new-tbs-show/?iref=2166:-1 On July 9, 2009, we covered “Gary: Landlord of the Flies,” (http://strangerthaneviction.tumblr.com/) a blog about a psychotic landlord and his daily freakouts, threats, and the like. Recently, I noticed on the Facebook fan page for “Landlord of the Flies,” we were given credit for mentioning the blog:
One year later, I’d like to touch upon in a future show “Landlord of the Flies” and update everyone on how it’s been going since we last spoke of it. I’d also like to find a way to get creator/victim Gabe Dunn to come on our show, either live or pre-recorded. If you want to hear our take on “Landlord of the Flies,” head on over to Episode 15 and listen in! |
