We top off this four-hour-long monster episode of Money Shots with the infamous “first version” of Episode 154, in all of its beer-soaked, drunken, unbalanced mess. Enjoy!

I invited a friend, Charles, over for this show. We recorded an entire 90-minute show, but Charles ended up drinking a little too much and, essentially, we had to end the show early. I also spilled an entire bottle of beer in to our mixing console and effectively trashed it right at the start of the show.

We reconvened later that night and re-did Episode 154, both without Charles and with the faulty mixer. We liked this version, so we posted it. Enjoy!

I affiliated Talk Radio Meltdown with Edge FM around the time of our first episode, and began streaming our show live in November 2010. Since then, I have enjoyed having professional friendships with the staff and hosts of Edge FM. On numerous occasions, I have spoken highly to my listeners, friends, and co-workers about how much I enjoyed the comradery and stability of the station.

However, in light of recent events, I no longer feel comfortable hosting my show on Edge’s platform. To put it simply, I feel like I am somewhere that I’m not supposed to be. I feel I have been placed in an awkward situation; one that I have attempted to ignore, but have ultimately failed in doing so.

As I had explained during a recent episode of Talk Radio Meltdown, I did not agree with the way in which things transpired with Edge FM’s latest “format change”. At the time, I had toyed with the thought of reverting Talk Radio Meltdown back to an independently-run operation, as it had been for the first year-and-a-half of the shows existence. Feeling uneasy and hesitant, I instead chose to remain with Edge.

Talk Radio Meltdown will once again be an independently-run operation. While I will continue to syndicate the show to our current affiliates at PKN Radio, K-IRB, and the Talk Superstation, I will rely on my own means of live broadcast.

As nearly every podcast host in the free world has done, I began my show as a hobby; as something fun to do with my friends every week. It will always be a hobby of mine. I have nothing but respect and love for my co-hosts, who take time out of their schedules to join me for a mere two hours to discuss popular culture. For the foreseeable future, it will be a hobby that I will undertake by my own means.

As I write this, I can only imagine that the various parties both still involved with and removed from Edge FM may point fingers and say it’s one another’s fault as to why I’ve come to this decision. I could also be completely wrong; I’d prefer to be the latter.
